Babar Azam Record

Newz24.orgĀ (10 May 2021) Pakistan Cricket team captain Babar Azam break another historic record in the recent series against zimbabwe. Babar Azam has won his first four Test matches as captain which makes him the first Pakistani to do so. Former captains Waqar Younis and Saleem Malik had won three of their first four matches as captains, but Babar broke that record.

After a clinical success on the first three days of the Test match, Babar’s team wrapped up the series against Zimbabwe. Pakistan won the series 2-0, with both matches being decided by an innings. Babar’s other two wins came in a 2-0 series victory over South Africa at home. Despite the team’s stellar results, Babar’s performance in the Test series against Zimbabwe was concerning.

In two innings, he only scored two runs, including a duck in the first Test match. As a Test captain, he has a mediocre overall batting record. In his four matches as captain, he has scored 124 runs and just one half-century at an average of 20.66.

Babar’s recent performance in the test cricket has seen him slip down the ICC Test batsman rankings as well. He went down from 6th to 9th after a bad showing in the first Test match. When the latest rankings are announced this week, he is predicted to fall even lower.

Babar has confirmed numerous times that his main goal is for the team to win matches and step up in the ICC rankings, despite his own lack of form. Babar will concentrate on the remainder of the PSL 6 before preparing for Pakistan’s limited-overs tour of England in July.

The Pakistan Cricket Board had given the captaincy of Test cricket to Babar Azam in 2020. Babar Azam led the Pakistani team in a two-match Test series against New Zealand for the first time.
