Babar Azam Player of The Month
International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Babar Azam Player of The Month for the ICC Player of the Month award for April. Pakistan captain Babar Azam was named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month in April 2021 for his consistent and outstanding performances in the recently concluded series against South Africa. He was chosen as the winner of the Award by the fans and the ICC Voting Academy.
Babar’s game dominating 94 off 82 balls in the third ODI against South Africa assisted him with getting 13 rating focuses to arrive at a vocation best 865 focuses. He also scored an outstanding century (122 off 59 balls) in Third T20.
Last month, Azam overtook Indian captain Virat Kohli as the top batsman in the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings, breaking Kohli’s long reign at the top.
The governing body also nominated left-handed opening batsman Fakhar Zaman for the award for April.
Zaman, had a stellar month as well, scoring two centuries in the ODI series win over South Africa, including a magnificent 193 in the second match in Johannesburg.
Bhurtel of Nepal, who completed the men’s shortlist, was the top run-scorer as his team won a tri-series that included the Netherlands and Malaysia. he scored 278 runs, remembering four half-hundreds of years for five games.
