Twitter “Tip Jar” Feature
Twitter has launched a new feature known as “Tip Jar” that allows users to earn money by getting tips from their followers. A small group of users, including musicians, authors, experts, and nonprofit organizations, would be able to use Tip Jar.
Only English-speaking Twitter users will be able to access it. Twitter, on the other hand, does not take any share of tips. Tip Jar is a simple way to show your respect for the amazing people who contribute to the Twitter conversation.
“This is the first step in our work to create new ways for people to receive and show support on Twitter – with money,” Twitter senior product manager Esther Crawford wrote in a blog post.
Anybody using Twitter in English can send tips to the necessary Twitter accounts on Android and IOS today. For now, only a small group of English Twitter users can add Tip Jar to their profile and get tips. Twitter officially supports Cash App, Patreon, Venmo, Bandcamp, and PayPal payment methods.
Once you choose one of these choices, you will be directed to the app’s page to send your payment.
In the “Edit Profile” section, users can choose to allow Tip Jar to follow them on Twitter.
Switch on Tip Jar by selecting it.
Then, to collect the tips, enter your payment details.
Tip Jar will be available on Spaces as well for Twitter users on Android.
