Peshawar Zalmi Appoints Kamran Akmal as Interim Head Coach

Wicket-keeper Batter Kamran Akmal Named Interim Head Coach of Peshawar Zalmi for Exhibition Match Against Quetta Gladiators

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, has chosen Kamran Akmal as interim head coach for the exhibition match against Quetta Gladiators. Despite not being selected by any PSL franchise for the upcoming eighth edition, the right-handed batter has been a part of the Zalmi team since the start of the league.

Recently, star Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz revealed in an interview that the Zalmi management was eager to appoint Kamran Akmal as a coach for the current season.

The exhibition match, which will take place on February 5 at Bugti Stadium in Quetta, has been organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to honor Kashmir Day. This will be the first time in PSL’s eight-year history that Balochistan will host a match and both franchises have announced their available players, with the cricket board confirming live coverage on PTV Sports.

As a Lahore-born cricketer who played for the Men in Yellow from 2016 to 2022, Kamran Akmal holds a special place in PSL history as the second-highest scorer in the league with 1,972 runs in 74 innings.
